McDaniel College offers an online graduate certificate program in Writing for Children and Young Adults. I've taught the Nonfiction, Picture Books, and Writing Workshop courses.
SCBWI is a professional organization for authors and illustrators of books for children and young adults. I've given keynote speeches and led workshops at regional conferences, and I've conducted countless written and in-person critiques. My most popular topics include plot and pacing, character, revision, and first pages.
Inked Voices is a platform for writing groups and an online space for writers. I've worked with writing groups to conduct in-depth critiques.
GWN is a mentoring organization that connects professional female writers with teen female and gender nonconforming writers. For ten years I not only mentored young women, but also developed curriculum and led workshops designed to introduce new genres of writing to the mentees.
